Over 21 million people from around the world gathered in Karbala, Iraq, for the annual Arbaeen pilgrimage. The event, one of the largest peaceful assemblies globally, was distinguished by its significant interfaith participation, with Sunni Muslims, Christians, and others joining Shiite pilgrims in a massive display of unity and solidarity.

The inaugural webinar of the “Arbaeen of Imam Hussein” conference series was held in Karbala on August 14, 2025, featuring international speakers from five countries. The event focused on how the Arbaeen pilgrimage serves as a universal platform for promoting human dignity, social justice, and a shared sense of global responsibility among leaders and communities.

The center’s key goals include creating a network for scientific and cultural exchange, fostering religious convergence, and disseminating the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt. Unique for its focus on content sharing and interactions, Tolou organizes webinars, seminars, and conferences to enhance Shiite studies and unity.

Two professors from the University of Tehran, Dr. Hanif Qalandari and Dr. Hassan Amini, have published an article exploring the astronomical works of the Islamic period. Their research focuses on the “Kharghi Star Table,” a star table from Islamic period astronomy that lists the names of stars along with their ecliptic coordinates and luminosity. The article has been published in English in Tehran University’s journal of Science.
