Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalaie, the representative of Ayatollah Sistani and the custodian of Imam Hussain’s Shrine, opened the library of Holy Shrine, which is affiliated with the Shrine’s Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs.
Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Karbalaie said: It is evident that the city of Karbala is the residence of scholars, jurists, and those with higher education. In Karbala, numerous libraries have been established, the most important of which is the library of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain.
He added: The rulers and tyrants tried to weaken the scientific movement in Karbala, but the light and blessing of Imam Hussain (P.B.U.H) guaranteed the continuation of this movement.
Ayatollah Sistani’s representative continued: This scientific movement is alive and flourishing with scientific and religious activity. Therefore, we must strive for the return of that scientific movement.
This library contains the latest religious, intellectual, and cultural resources and all other fields, including medicine and life.
