The Roots of Peace in the Texts and Traditions of Abrahamic Religions

QOM-CONNECTICUT | The Tolu International Institute (Qom, Iran) and Hartford International University (Connecticut, USA) proudly announce a specialized webinar titled “The Roots of Peace in the Texts and Traditions of Abrahamic Religions”. This academic event is designed to explore the theological foundations of peaceful coexistence and to promote the discourse of peace among followers of the Abrahamic faiths.

Distinguished Speakers and Panelists

The webinar features prominent scholars and pioneers in interfaith dialogue:

  • Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Dr. Mohammad Ali Shomali: Director of the International Institutes of Risalat and Islamic Studies, and a leading figure in Shia-Catholic dialogue.
  • Dr. Lucinda Allen Mosher: Professor of Interfaith Studies and Director of the Interfaith Programs at Hartford International University.
  • Dr. Mohammad Hossein Mozaffari: Founder and Director of the Center for Peace and Dialogue at the University of Religions and Denominations.
  • Dr. Yehezkel Landau: Associate Professor at Hartford International University and holder of the Chair in Abrahamic Partnerships.

About the Organizing Institutions

This event is the result of a collaboration between two prestigious academic institutions from the East and the West:

  1. Tolu International Institute:

Based in the holy city of Qom, this institute operates under the supervision of Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Sayyid Jawad al-Shahristani, the plenipotentiary representative of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in Iran. The institute focuses on scientific and religious diplomacy, playing a key role in introducing authentic Islamic teachings in modern languages and bridging the gap between Islamic seminaries (Hawzas) and global academic centers.

  1. Hartford International University (HIU):

Located in Connecticut, USA, HIU is a pioneering institution in the fields of theology, interfaith studies, and peacebuilding. With a long history of promoting mutual understanding among religions, HIU focuses on training religious leaders and researchers dedicated to achieving peaceful coexistence in pluralistic societies.
