Kharij [post-doctorate] courses are the highest level of courses in Shiite seminaries, and it is at this level that some students succeed in attaining ijtihad. The teaching stage of these courses in a seminary can be considered as the highest educational level of a seminary. The teachers of these courses in seminaries are called mujtahids.

Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli is an Iranian Twelver Shiʿa Marjaʿ [religious authority]. He was born in the year 1312 A.H./1933C.E. in Mazandaran Province. His father, Abolhassan Vaʿiz Javadi Amoli, was one of the scholars of Amol city. Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli is one of the students of Ayatollah Boroujerdi, Imam Khomeini and Allamah Tabatabaei and for about sixty years he has taught sciences such as philosophy, mysticism, jurisprudence and exegesis in the seminaries of Qom and Tehran. He has written many books, including Tafsir Tasnim (exegesis of the Qur’an) and Rahiq Makhtoum (interpretation of Mulla Sadra’s Asfar Arba’a ). He is an Allamah [very learned, great scholar], jurist, philosopher, mystic, exegete of the Qur’an, and a member of the Society of Teachers and one of the Shiite marjaʿ [religious authority] in Iran. He is the author of Tasnim exegesis, the largest exegesis in the Islamic world of which 63 volumes have been published so far. His new work, the book “Salūnī Qabla an Tafqidūnī“, is the interpretation of Nahj al-Balaghah, which has attracted the attention of many, including the scholarly community and elites.
