Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Hadi Darvishi Ilamy, Deputy for Education and Research at the Ashura International Foundation, has met with Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad at the Vatican to discuss potential scientific and cultural cooperation.
During the session, Hojjat al-Islam Darvishi outlined the Foundation’s mission and upcoming activities to the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue. A focal point of the discussion was the Foundation’s major upcoming film project, designed to introduce the character and mission of Imam Hussein (A.S.) to Christian audiences.
Cardinal Koovakad welcomed the visit and expressed a keen interest in the film project, offering his readiness to provide consultation and ideas. He further emphasized his willingness to engage in joint dialogues regarding Ashura.
The meeting concluded with an official invitation from Hojjat al-Islam Darvishi for the Cardinal to visit Iran to view its religious and academic institutions, and to attend the Foundation’s programs in Iraq. Cardinal Koovakad warmly welcomed the invitation.
The session was attended by Iran’s Ambassador to the Vatican, Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Dr. Mokhtari, and senior Vatican deputies. At the close of the visit, the Foundation presented the Cardinal with a selection of books on Ashura in multiple languages.
