The 41st Fajr International Film Festival Concludes with Grand Closing Ceremony

Tehran, Iran – The 41st Fajr International Film Festival concluded on Saturday, February 11, with a magnificent closing ceremony held at the prestigious Milad Tower Convention Center. The festival, which commenced on February 1st at the Mellat Cinema Campus (Media House) and Milad Tower (Festival House), showcased a diverse selection of 24 remarkable films.

Dignitaries, esteemed artists, the Minister of Islamic Culture, ambassadors of participating nations, and distinguished foreign guests graced the closing ceremony with their presence. The event commenced at 19:15 with the reverberating strains of the national anthem, setting the tone for an evening filled with reverence and celebration.

Mohammadreza Shahidifard, the gracious host of the ceremony, dedicated the evening to the memory of the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the revolution, the imposed war, acts of terror, and in service of national security. He also acknowledged the absence of certain artists from this year’s festival, assuring the audience that their return is imminent. His words resonated with the attendees, resulting in resounding applause.

Expressing his sentiments, Mojtabi Amini, the festival’s secretary, emphasized the importance of ensuring that the festival’s significance is not overshadowed by challenges, conflicts, animosity, or misunderstandings. He underscored the need to honor the credibility and reputation of Iranian cinema and its talented cinematographers.

Amini stated, “We were determined not to let the festival fade away amidst difficulties. We firmly believe that Iranian cinema’s integrity and the dedication of its filmmakers deserve utmost respect.” He further expressed his gratitude for the support received during the challenging days, weeks, and hours, emphasizing that without the collective assistance, the hurdles would have been insurmountable. He acknowledged their duty and love for Iranian cinema, which drove them to curate a diverse and inclusive showcase, reflective of the industry’s rich tapestry.
